Weekly Update

Week of Dec. 2, 2019 

12/2	C Day	We have art.    Homework:  Practice for math center and read your word list.    Math Game Bag sent home today.
12/3	D Day	We have Math Center, gym, and music.       Homework: Complete the word worksheet.
12/4	E Day	We have art.  Late Start 9:25 Arrival    Homework: Play Math Game Bag Game and have parent sign log.    Math Game Bags Due Tomorrow.
12/5	F Day	We have gym.    Homework:  Complete math worksheet.
12/6	A Day	We have art, computer lab, and library.    No Homework

Word Work: Our class will spend another week learning about the long e digraph syllable pattern this week. The following words are examples of this pattern: clean, week, belief, key. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.

Math Fact Practice: As the end of the year approaches, please check what level your child is on in math center. By the end of December, they should have level A (addition facts within 10) and level B (subtraction facts within 10) completed. This will allow time to complete the 2nd grade goal which is passing Wizard Level C and D.

Homework Reminder: December is a very busy time of year for most families. Please help your child handle the holiday excitement by keeping nightly reading, homework, and school routines as normal as possible. If you find a time when your child is unable to complete the nightly expectations, please email or write a note explaining the circumstances.
