Stuffed A Truck: Stuff A Truck has begun and will run through next Friday, November 15th. If possible, please donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, cereal, rice, and boxed foods. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste are also needed. Our goal is to fill the box in our classroom with as many items as we can by Nov. 15th.
Word Work: Our class will continue to learn words that follow the long a digraph syllable pattern this week. Long a digraph syllable patterns use the following vowel teams, ai, ea, eigh, ay, and ey. The following words are examples of this pattern: maid, great, eighty, tray, and survey. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to practice long a digraph word list.
PTO Thanksgiving Luncheon: Our Lincoln School Thanksgiving Luncheon will be Thursday, November 14th! All students are encouraged to participate. Lunch is $2.45 for students and payment should be sent by Thursday, November 14th. We need many parent/grandparent volunteers to help on this day. Please contact the office if you’re able to help out. Unfortunately due to limited spacing, parents and grandparents are only welcome to attend if they are volunteering. Thank you in advance for considering helping us for this fun yearly tradition.
Scholastic Book Order: Book order forms were sent home last week. I will be placing a November / December book order by Friday, November 15th. Books make wonderful holiday gifts and I would be happy to keep book orders a surprise by making special pick up arrangements for you. If you choose this option, please email, call, or send a note letting me know you would like your book order to be a gift and I will contact you when the order arrives to arrange pick up times. Thank you
Second Grade Music Program: Our 2nd grade music program which will be on November 21st at 6:00 p.m. There will also be an afternoon performance during school on that same day at 3:00 p.m. Here is a note from Mrs. McElroy, our music teacher.
