  Weekly Update

     Week of January 27, 2020 

1  1/27	B Day	We have S.E.L. and Music.      Homework: Complete Math Center Practice Sheet and review      word list.  Math Game Bag sent home today.
1  1/28	C Day	We have Art.     Homework:  Complete your word sheet.
1/29	D Day	We have Gym and Music.       Homework: Play your math game, sign sheet, and return bag.
1/30	E Day	We have Art.    Math Game Bag due today.     Homework: Read for 15 min and make sure your reading log is up to date.
1/31	F Day	We have Gym.     We do not have homework.  Remember to read this weekend.

Word Work: Our class will be learning about the r-controlled /ar/ syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern makes the sound as in beware, rarely, and prairie. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.

Math Bags: Math bags will begin coming home every Monday again. They are due back on Thursday. This week’s game is Salute. Your student has been playing at school and should know how to play. Instructions will be included in the bag just in case there is any confusion.

Math Center: Did you know there are only 13 more Math Center days. At this time of year, your child should be half-way through Wizard C. If they are not at this point, please make sure they practice their facts nightly. If your child needs flashcards, we can provide a set for them to carry back and forth between school. Let us know if you have any questions.
