Happy New Year!  I am so excited to start 2020 with all of you.  Please watch for news about class volunteering opportunities, needed supplies, and field trips in March and May.  I will be sharing information soon so you can check your calendars.  Thank you

Thank you!
Our class holiday party was a huge success. Thank you to all the parents who donated supplies.  A special thank you to those parents who helped out the day of the party since
I had to be gone due to my husband's surgery.  His retina surgery was a success and we are very grateful.

Word Work: Our class will be learning the -r controlled /ar/ syllable pattern this week. Our syllable pattern will show up in words like smart, shark, start, and market. Students should read their word lists, discuss the meaning of the words, and practice spelling words with similar syllable patterns. Spelling City is ready for students to access the practice list for the week.

“All Hands on Deck!” Friday, January 10th our second grade classes may dress like pirates to celebrate our /ar/ syllable pattern. “Arrr” it should be a jolly ole time.
